Uniform, Kit and Equipment List:

The purpose of the school uniform is to encourage the pupils to identify with school. By wearing a school uniform, in school and on the way to and from school, all pupils will have a sense of belonging and be proud of their school. Items of uniform are not expensive and most can be purchased from High Street chain stores. The official school uniform items which are decorated with the school crest are available from Orchard Clothing, Redditch. The school colours are royal blue, gold and grey.

Boys are not allowed to wear boxer shorts. A pair of briefs must be worn under their black shorts for the lesson.

All of the above are essential. Football socks, shin pads and gumshields are needed by all pupils to ensure their safety.

All pupils are expected to have a change of socks appropriate to the lesson.

All pupils are allowed to wear a tracksuit/additional sweaters/school fleece when the weather is cold.  These items should be in the school colours only.

Pupils work in bare feet for Gymnastics and Dance. Anyone with foot problems is allowed to wear a pair of soft pumps. Trainers are not allowed for safety reasons.

Pupils with written permission not to participate in a PE lesson are expected to change into their kit and watch the activities.

Jewellery:

NO jewellery, except a wrist watch, should be worn in school. Earrings and studs should not be worn in school; if stud earrings cannot be removed for the initial period then they must be covered with sticking plaster before coming to school. Plasters will not be provided by school for this purpose. For certain activities, eg rugby, pupils are not allowed to take part wearing any type of jewellery, even if it is taped.  These rules are designed to protect all pupils, both those wearing the jewellery and the other members of the group from injury. Ideally, if parents wish to have their child’s ears pierced it should be done at the beginning of the summer holiday so that earrings can be removed before the start of term in September.

Hairstyles:

The Governors have a policy on “outlandish” hairstyles. The Headteacher will give guidelines on this policy to any parents who may be considering a particular style for their child. Pupils will be sent home if a hairstyle is considered to be inappropriate.

Make-up and Nail Varnish:

These are not allowed in school and any pupil wearing either of them will be asked for it to be removed.
