Year 8 Malvern Residential Trip

We are once again offering pupils the chance to take part in a residential Outdoor Education course in Malvern.  It is an exciting opportunity that will take place during the Autumn Term 2021.  The party will leave school at 9:15 a.m. on Monday 6th December and will return between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m. on Thursday 9th December.

We will be following an ‘outdoor activities` week which will give the children the chance to experience a number of new activities.  The centre provides the opportunity to abseil, try orienteering, problem solving, zip lines and assault courses and to explore the local countryside, including tackling the Malvern Ridge walk.  The children will encounter many new and exciting experiences that will live with them for the rest of their lives and increase their self-confidence as they achieve things that they did not know they were capable of.  They will also experience being away from home and living and co-operating with others.

The PE Department have decided to subsidise the cost of the trip, hopefully ensuring more pupils can take up this opportunity. The cost of this year’s visit will be £170. This includes full board, hire of outdoor clothing and equipment, fully qualified instructors and transport.

A deposit of £35, paid via ParentPay is required to secure your child’s place on this trip and must be paid by Wednesday 6th October 2021.  This deposit is non-refundable. The balance can be paid in regular instalments or as a lump sum.  Full payment and consent must be received via ParentPay by Friday 19th November 2021.

If your child is currently in receipt of free school meals, the full cost of this trip will be covered from Pupil Premium funding. To ensure a place on this trip is reserved for your child, please provide your consent via ParentPay by Wednesday 6th  October 2021.
