If you have an immediate concern over the safety and welfare of a child there are a number of actions you can take:
- Phone 999– you will be put through to the Police where you can report the nature of your concern.
- Refer to Children’s Social Care – Family Front Door.
The Family Front Door, Initial Contact and Referral Team is the central point for all referrals for children and young people aged 0 to 18 years and living in Worcestershire where there is safeguarding or child protection concerns for them.

Young Minds Parenting Support
Parenting isn’t always easy. Although it’s often amazing and rewarding to watch your children grow and to help them learn to be independent, it can also be really hard work. Guides provide information to some common mental health conditions, how children and young people can cope, and where to go to get help.
Services include Relationship Counselling for individuals and couples, Family Counselling, Mediation and Children and Young People’s Counselling. We also provide friendly and informal workshops for people at important stages in their relationships.
Parenting teenagers can be likened to a rollercoaster, with many ups and downs along the way. Parents may feel more anxious as their teen becomes more independent and it can become harder to give them advice. Parenting teenagers can be an enjoyable experience with a little bit of preparation and Family lives offer a wealth of information on the different issues parents might face.

Redditch BC Parenting and Community Team offer groups for parents/carers and provide community information including Childcare Funding Advice to families in Bromsgrove and Redditch. We also work in partnership with providers within the local community, so we can offer advice and guidance to all families
Worcestershire Children First – Early Help Family Support
WCF – Early Help Family Support offer help and support to parents who are experiencing difficulties in their family or are worried about their children. They offer advice and guidance on a wide range of family matters.
Whatever you’re going through, a Samaritan will face it with you. They are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Refuge offers support to women and children. They have a 24 hour National Domestic Abuse Helpline (free) and offer guidance on how recognise the signs of abuse and get appropriate support.

Men’s Advice Line is a confidential helpline for male victims of domestic abuse and those supporting them. We offer advice and emotional support to men who experience abuse and signpost to other vital services that help keep them and their children safe.
