Our vision when teaching Science here at Birchensale, is to provide the right conditions and develop the best possible environment to allow all learners to fall in love with the world and the universe around them. We aim to encourage and foster a love of learning; provide new experiences and support all learners through acquisition of knowledge, skills and techniques, to help them become critical scientists in the world today. We provide our pupils with opportunities to deep dive into specific science disciplines, ranging from Astronomy, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, through to Zoology. We encourage the sustained lifelong love of exploring the natural world and beyond. We personalise our learning journey to offer a broad, balanced and creative approach for all pupils, so that they are supported and challenged in a variety of groups and settings. We ensure that all pupils are exposed to a breadth of current and emerging scientific knowledge, discoveries and understanding from entry in Year 5, to exit in Year 8. We provide our pupils with access to modern technology; fully dedicated science laboratories and specialised teaching staff, allowing our learners to receive outstanding science education from passionate & enthusiastic members of our school community. Our Science curriculum evokes a passion in our pupils to ask the big questions, explore the unknown and become successful young entrepreneurial scientists.
