Anti-Bullying

At Birchensale Middle School we want to make sure that everyone feels safe, happy and welcome.

What is bullying?

At Birchensale, bullying is someone who hurts another person more than once, by using behaviour which is meant to scare, hurt or upset that person. Bullying is behaviour which is repeated on purpose and is meant to upset someone.

Someone usually hurts someone else, emotionally, or physically on numerous occasions because someone is different to them, or they are jealous.

This is why we need to:

  • Start
  • Telling
  • Other
  • People

It is important that you tell someone as soon as you are being bullied, or you notice someone else being bullied.

Who can you talk to?

Speaking to someone like your mum, dad, carer or any staff at school will mean that we can make sure the bullying stops and doesn’t happen again.

Antibullying Ambassadors.

Some pupils at Birchensale have had specific training about bullying and the preventions. They are always looking out for bullying and how they can help people. On the KS2 playground, we have some outdoor seating that is specifically for helping pupils in situations like bullying, friendships problems, or loneliness.
The ambassadors also patrol the playgrounds supporting anyone that may need help.
