Every year pupils are elected to be a school councillor after being voted in by their peers from a speech they shared.
These group of pupils then come together every fortnight to meet and discuss any problems are concerns. These may include school lunches, behaviour or ideas for fundraising events. Pupils are then responsible for carrying out ideas that have been agreed such as ‘spreading the word’ for important messages about fundraisers or events that are taking place.
Last year, the school council were very successful in securing second place in the Tesco blue coin competition, this meant that we were about to purchase some outdoor shelter for our playground. Our school councillors wish to carry on the success, whether that be fundraising for charity or ensuring extra provisions or ideas are in place to help our school run smoothly enabling pupils to get the best out of their learning or social times.
